Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

When you use ViewTube we collect: account information you provide (username, email, display name); content you upload (videos, thumbnails, comments); usage data (videos watched, watch duration, searches, likes and subscriptions); and technical data (IP address, browser type, device information) used for security and analytics.

2. How we use your information

We use your data to operate the service — delivering videos, keeping your watch history and library, personalizing recommendations and the subscription feed, paying creators, measuring ad performance, preventing fraud and abuse, and improving the platform.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies to keep you signed in (session cookie), remember preferences such as theme, and understand how the service is used. If the site owner enables Google Analytics, Google may set cookies to measure site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in from working.

4. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the platform (such as video storage and delivery providers), when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users. Public information — your channel, public videos, and comments — is visible to anyone.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Watch history and analytics data may be retained in aggregated form. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from public view and delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can view and clear your watch history from the Library page and edit profile details from your profile settings. For other requests, contact us through the platform's support channels.

7. Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures: passwords are stored hashed, sessions are encrypted, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure — use a strong, unique password.

8. Children's privacy

The service is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced on the platform. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
